About This Tour

This 2-day expedition takes you to two of Djibouti's most extraordinary natural wonders. Lake Abbé, on the Ethiopian border, features a spectacular forest of limestone chimneys rising tens of metres above the desert floor. Lake Assal, 155 metres below sea level, is the lowest point in Africa, surrounded by brilliant white salt flats. The expedition includes a night at the Lake Abbé campsite, sunset and sunrise photography, and exploration of the Afar region.
